Material feature:
Super high solidification rate in sprayforming makes the microstructure very fine and homogeneous. Ultra-high-alloyed carbides and nitrides in microns are spheroidal, uniformly distributed in the matrix, facilitating excellent red-hardness, isotropic mechanical properties and good machinability, even better wear resistance and tooling life comparing to similar grade of PM steel.
Applications:
Very high alloyed high speed steel for tools requiring both hot hardness and wear resistance, such as extrusion die, demanding gear cutting tools, broaches, punches, drills, end mills, etc.

Material feature:
Super high solidification rate in sprayforming makes the microstructure very fine and homoge- neous. High-alloyed, especially high V-alloyed carbides and nitrides in microns are spheroidal, uniformly distributed in the matrix, facilitating excellent red-hardness, isotropic mechanical pro- perties, e.g. impact toughness is increased by 70 - 100%, and good machinability, better wear resistance and tooling life comparing to similar grade of ESR or even PM steel.
Applications:
High-V-alloyed high speed steel for universal applications, such as various cutting tools, punch dies, broach inserts, metal forming tools, rolls, etc. Due to its high and isotropic strength and toughness, it is specially suitable for heavy load or large tools.

Material feature:
Super high solidification rate in sprayforming refines the carbide morphology from rough net- works to near-equiaxed, as can be seen from the pictures below, generating better machinability, more isotropic mechanical properties, e.g. impact toughness increases by 70 - 100%. That means usable hardness of the tools can be increased under the same toughness requirement, thus to reach much better wear resistance and tooling life than similar grade of ESR.
Applications:
Basic and universal HSS for various cutting tools: drills, reamers, broaches, milling cutters, saw blades, various knives; punching dies, cold work tools, rolls, etc. Due to its high and isotropic strength and toughness, it is specially suitable for heavy load or large tools.

Material feature:
Super high solidification rate in sprayforming with hot forging makes the microstructure very fine and homogeneous, and tailor designed amount of alloyed carbides and nitrides in microns are uniformly distributed in the matrix, which provide better wear and thermal fatigue resis-tance in hot working than conventional grades. It has better machinability, including polishing and edge-griding properties, and holds hardness better at elevated temperature.
Applications:
High-performance extrusion dies, pressure die casting (PDC) dies, hot-forging dies, precision forging dies, seamless pipe rolling mandrel, components of high strength, high wear resistance and heat resistance, etc.

Material feature:
Super high solidification rate in sprayforming refines the massive carbides into equiaxed and a few microns in size, offering combination of high hardness and toughness,good machinability, and isotropic mechanical properties. Its wear resistance is about 5 times better than D2, even better than its PM conterpart. It microstructure is shown in the picture below.
Applications:
For high abrasion resistant cold work tools or parts, such as metal sheet and paper rotary cutters, crusher wear parts, stamping and punching dies, cold extrusion dies, feeding screw, injection moulding cylinder sleeve, ceramics and powder metallurgy moulds and their reinforcement inserts or strips, quality woodworking tools, etc.
